December - Remember Abi

Abi.jpg

As you and your family and friends participate in the Chicks for Change campaign we want to ensure you are able to keep the children this campaign is truly for at the forefront of your mind. Each month a different Onesimus child will be highlighted so you can know and share a portion of his or her story.

Abi lives at Onesimus' halfway home for boysAge: 14
Religion: Ethiopian Orthodox

About Abi: Abi is currently living in Onesimus' halfway home for boys. His mother is living and loves Abi very much. Her desire is for Abi to live at home with her, but he refuses. Before moving to the halfway home Abi spent most of his time on the streets. Today he is typically extremely helpful and responsible. In fact, Abi usually places within the top five of his class. At times he behaves in unpredictable ways such as running away without warning or destroying property. Abi seems very reluctant to embrace Christianity, often taunting the other halfway home children for their faith in Jesus.

Pray for: Salvation / Restored relationship with his mother / Consistently appropriate behavior / A future apart from the streets
